Dear Friends,
Thanks for taking a moment to find out more about my
180-mile bicycle ride from
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic disease of the central nervous system affecting the brain and spinal cord. Its symptoms strike randomly, usually between the ages of 20 and 50. For some, it is difficult to manage one’s life from day to day. People living with MS require support from friends and family to help with daily needs. Riding in the BP MS 150 Bike Tour will be a challenge for me and I’ll have lots of support, but it will be over after 30 hours. People with MS can have it the rest of their lives unless and until researchers find a cure. Although they are making progress towards their goal of finding a cure, today the cause and cure of MS remains a mystery.
On April 16 & 17, 2005, I’ll be riding with thousands of others to help raise contributions for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Lone Star Chapter. We start at Tully Stadium in Houston on Saturday, ride about halfway and camp overnight in LaGrange, and on Sunday complete the ride to Austin.
Won’t you please consider making a donation by sponsoring my ride? Any amount you give is appreciated. All proceeds of your tax-deductible donation benefit the National MS Society’s research and chapter programs. The National MS Society, Lone Star Chapter serves more than 14,000 people living with MS and their families from Beaumont to Del Rio and from Dallas to Brownsville. The chapter covers 141 counties, more than half the counties in Texas.
More information about MS and the ride itself are here:
Thanks, again, for your time and consideration.
Regards,
Daniel Norton
